The Blind Beggar pub was formerly a hotspot for the Kray Twins, and was also owned by former England football captain Bobby Moore. Mile End Park provides plenty of outdoor space for kids and families, and there’s Roman Road with its mix of old East End shops and independent boutiques.

Mile End has some of the best transport links in East London. With the Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines all going through the Underground Station, there’s also regular buses connecting the area with the square mile and central London. It’s also ideally located nearby to Canary Wharf and the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch.

Hidden away is Tower Hamlets Cemetary Park, a former graveyard that’s been allowed to return to nature. There’s an annual arts festival curated by film director Danny Boyle and regular kids and volunteering activities. Alternatively, take a stroll down memory lane along the historical canal networks that criss-cross the area.

Transport Information
Mile End has excellent, bus, train, road and cycle links that connect it with the A12 to the east, central London to the west and Canary Wharf to the south.
Trains
Mile End has its own Underground tube station which has three lines running through it. The Central line connects to Liverpool Street and the City, the District Line to Embankment and Westminster and the Hammersmith & City line has connections to Kings Cross and Paddington.
Buses
Mile End has a huge variety of buses connecting the area to Canary Wharf, the city, and Oxford Circus.
